American Campus Communities hosts a Flick case study at University of California Irvine (April 2022)

American Campus Communities, the nation's largest developer, owner and manager of high-quality student housing apartment communities hosted a case study of Flick in Irvine, CA.


217 apartment units of the Vista Del Campo Norte community were outfitted with Flick prior to resident move-in.


95% of participating residents understood the purpose of the Flick switch


92% of participating residents were pleased that management installed the Flick Switch to help grow awareness of energy & consumption habits


83% Flick users reported the switch influenced how often they thought about energy & consumption


82% Residents outside of the study who were made aware of Flick, expressed an interest in obtaining one and learning more about the switch


82% Flick users shifted their views on energy consumption after interacting with the Flick switch


73% of Flick residents took proactive action when the switch changed colors and alerted a change in energy consumption
