FLICK PROMOTES ENERGY AWARENESS & COMMUNICATION THAT EMPOWERS MULTI-FAMILY COMMUNITIES.
ABOUT FLICK
Flick was purpose built for the 1/3 of households that live in multifamily apartment communities, yet are underserved by utility programs.
Flick's patented smart light switch plate has embedded color coded technology that encourages end-users to reduce bills and carbon emissions when energy on the grid is most expensive, and, or, carbon intensive. Flick takes time-based electric rate signals directly from local utilities and translates those signals into an easy to understand informational display.
Wireless and Wi-Fi-less, Flick can scale quickly across any sort of building stock.
Proven Results in Utility Trials: Flick has been proven through utility trials to save over 8% of usage, over 10% during more carbon intensive and costly 'peak' times of the day, and through a separate trial, achieved 20% demand response across a portfolio of affordable housing.
The Flick switch also serves as a critical messaging center within apartment and multi-family communities. Flick's color-coded energy display doubles as a fully customizable messaging center, complete with engagement and response features that allow property managers to engage in effective two-way communication. Engage direct with specific residents/units or message an entire community through a series of pre-programmed engagements which include alerts, QR codes, polls, surveys and more.
Flick was created to promote energy awareness and communication that empowers communities with the tools and resources necessary to flourish.
FOUNDING FLICK
Flick was founded in Southern CA by Andre Ramirez, a seasoned utility veteran who led rate and pricing reforms to provide Californians a better way to manage electric bills each day. Alongside a team of statisticians and economists, Andre helped craft long-term pricing strategies for over 4 million customers, resulting from the California Public Utilities Commission deciding to transition most Californians to time-of-day pricing versus pricing based on aggregate use. California's three major utilities were the first in the nation to roll out such pricing structures on a large scale. The Flick switch was created as a tool to help educate consumers towards reducing energy consumption, increasing awareness and reducing costly utility bills.
With decades of deeply rooted energy, community and housing experience our team at Flick is committed to working with key housing advocates, national partners and non-profit organizations aligned on enhancing multi-family communities.
