San Diego Community Power Announces Community Clean Energy Innovation Program and Flick Partnership
San Diego Community Power & San Diego Foundation recently announced nearly $400,000 in community support, kickstarting a very impactful partnership between Flick & Community HousingWorks.
In March 2023, San Diego Community Power (SDCP) launched its first community grant program called Community Clean Energy Innovation Grants. The program aims to provide economic, environmental, and health benefits to SDCP’s communities.
This new partnership will make it possible to deploy hundreds of Flick energy and communication devices throughout San Diego.
Flick wishes to congratulate our fellow grant recipients and local energy leaders for making this program a reality and for investing in San Diego’s most deserving communities.
SDCP is San Diego’s largest community choice aggregator (CCA) — one of two local agencies that buy electricity for local utility customers.
San Diego Community Power serves customers in San Diego, Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, Encinitas, National City and the county’s unincorporated areas.
Andre Ramirez ’07 gives UCI students opportunities to learn about the energy industry, the product design process and business development through hiring interns, sponsoring a capstone project, and supporting formal research projects. As founder and CEO of Flick Power, he helps people save money and electricity with a battery-powered device that provides basic color-coded signals to educate users on the best times to conserve energy.
